Hover mowers are named after the way in which they move. Unlike regular lawn mowers, they don’t have wheels. Instead they float on pockets of air which are created by an internal fan. You’ll be able to purchase hover mowers which are either electric powered or gas powered. They are best suited to small areas of lawn and don’t tend to offer grass collection.
Multi-Directional Movement – Because they don’t use wheels for movement, hover mowers are not confined only to forward and backward motion. They can be pushed in any direction you want which is particularly handy if your lawn has irregular borders or hard to reach areas.
Extremely Light – The majority of models are constructed from plastic (electric powered ones at least) which allows them to remain lightweight and ideal for less physically able people.
Low Maintenance – They are pretty simplistic in design so there’s not a whole lot which can go wrong and they require very little maintenance other than sharpening/replacing the blade every so often and keeping the underside of the deck clean.
Low Cost – If you haven’t got a massive budget to spend on a new mower then hover mowers are a great option as they are some of the cheapest out there (we are referring to the electric powered ones here).
